STREAMLIGHT TLR-1 HL® GUN LIGHT
The series that started it all for many in law enforcement: the TLR-1 — and its modern evolution, the High Lumen (HL) line.
Hard to find a LEO who hasn’t crossed paths with this Weapon-Mounted Light (WML) in some form. It’s the “steady eddy” of the profession.
The TLR-1 HL is a reliable, do-it-all light that stands up to the lumen lickers and candela crackheads chasing spec-sheet supremacy—forgetting that real-world performance doesn’t get graded in a lab.
The TLR-1 HL just works. Easy toggle switch. High output. A fat beam pattern we’d argue is better for patrol than the ultra-tight cones favored by candela-heavy WMLs. Don’t get us wrong—those lights have their place. But for the patrolling masses? The TLR-1 HL gets it done with solid performance at a competitive price point.
Overall, it’s the B+ student of the WML world—and a damn good value for the dollar. NG recommends the HL-X as the “latest and greatest,” but having solid options never hurts.
